SNEAK PEEK – Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03

-

It’s time to beam down! We’re on course for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03. Additionally, it would seem this week’s episode is all about a focus on the character of Number One. So not only are we learning more about this character but getting more screen time with Rebecca Romjin. Win-win if you ask me! Thankfully Trek Central has your latest preview pictures & trailers for this week’s Strange New Worlds episode, “Ghosts of Illyria”

Una must confront a secret she’s been hiding when a contagion ravages the ship, incapacitating the rest of the crew.

Promotional Pictures

Paramount have beamed down brand new promotional pictures for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03. Additionally, the promo pictures reveal Daniel Gravelle as Ensign Lance. Likely our first redshirt for this new Star Trek series. We’ve also got great looks at both Number One and Captain Christopher Pike in the Enterprise away team jackets.

Teaser Trailer

You know an episode all about contamination or some sort of virus, that is a bit close to home given recent years. However, it does seem that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03 is going to explore this concept in the latest episode. But it does seem there is a catch. The crew are attracted to light sources? Perhaps people have taken that Internet Moth meme a bit too far?

Now while we’re getting a focus on Number One, it does appear our medical officers are going to get some of the spotlights. See what I did there? Doctor M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) was absent from Episode 2. However, are we going to spend more time with him in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03? I’d hope so! Additionally, Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush) is featured in the teaser trailer. Watch below.

The Ready Room Clip Preview

It might seem like this week’s episode is Hemmer Time! Bruce Horak’s Hemmer had an introduction in last week’s Episode 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. However, Hemmer didn’t really do much or was seen a lot. So, will Episode 3 be our first proper taste of this unique new Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise? I hope so!

This week’s Ready Room Preview Clip gives us a good interaction between Hemmer and Transporter Chief Kyle (Andre Dae Kim). Personally, I can’t wait to see this scene in the episode to get more additional context on Hemmer’s task. Additionally, when are we going to get the dedicated engineering episode? Every Star Trek series has one, so we can only hope Hemmer will get one as well

Conclusion

I’m really keen to watch this week’s tar Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×03. Especially that we’re getting a focus on Number One it would seem. Additionally, if we’re spending more time with Chief Engineer Hemmer, that is fantastic.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds airs on Thursday, May 5 via Paramount+ in the USA, Australia, Latin America, and the Nordics. Additionally on the CTV Sci-Fi Channel and Crave Streaming in Canada.
