Fresh news from Hall H of San Diego Comic Con 2026! Karim Diané has revealed during the Star Trek extravaganza on Saturday 25th July that Ruaridh Aldington is joining the cast for Season 2 of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Aldington’s character, currently known only as ‘Keats’, is a young alien encountered by the cadets during an away mission. They make the risky call to bring him to the Academy, before realising he’s a wanted man, running for his life with a mysterious backstory.
Ruaridh Aldington joins the cast as a relatively new talent, most recently seen in Andes Plan Crash, Drained, Dirty Boy and Mother and Ulysses.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy first aired on January 15th 2026. Created by Gaia Violo, Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, Season One starred Holly Hunter, Sandro Rosta and Karim Diané. The first season is available to stream on Paramount+, and there is as-yet no news on when we can expect Season 2 to air. Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later!
