EXCLUSIVE: We’re only days away from San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The annual event typically brings news to the Star Trek Universe. However, before the weekend, Trek Central has news for Trekkies worldwide. We’ve got information that shows New Cast Members Join Star Trek: Section 31! That’s right, Michelle Yeoh’s film is one of the most anticipated Star Trek projects right now.
The main cast for Section 31 was revealed earlier this year. However, we’ve now got information that reveals more of the movie’s supporting cast. Currently, details about what sort of plot to expect from the Paramount+ movie are unclear. Based on the reveal of Kacey Rohl playing a young Rachel Garrett, we presume the film will take place in the early 2300’s. It is an area that has not been shown on-screen in the Star Trek universe. But anyway, who are our news cast members?
Star Trek: Section 31’s New Cast Members
Actress Cindy Goh will be playing Georgiou’s Mother. Goh seems to be a new actress to the scene. Her only previous role is in the production “Kindred”, which, like Section 31, is currently in post-production. Additionally, actor Nikita Kim will play Philippa Georgiou’s younger brother. Kim is another fresh face in the acting scene. Their only previous role was in the TV series The Dessert. It seems Star Trek: Section 31 will expand on family life for Phillipa Georgiou.
Actor Houston Wong will play Georgiou’s Dad! They’ve appeared in quite a few TV series and TV movies before. Productions include “One More Time” and “Air Crash Investigation.” Now, based on the ages of those involved here, it seems we may be looking at flashbacks. However, there is the possibility of more time travel happening. We know that Georgiou has been thrown back in time following her last appearance in Star Trek: Discovery. Where she ends up, is unknown.
These new cast members could reveal new plot points for Star Trek: Section 31. Yeoh’s Georgiou could have gone back further in time. Perhaps she is seeing her own past life? The most obvious explanation for Georgiou’s parents being in the film is flashbacks. It would not be the first time she has had flashbacks. In the Discovery episode “Terra Firma Part 2”, she has a flashback to the death of San. We don’t know much about this character. However, it seems he affected Georgiou. She cared for him a lot. It’s possible the film will deal with him and her parents.
Big Reveals for Star Trek: Section 31!
We might be getting some big reveals for Star Trek: Section 31. While we bring you the news that new Cast Members Join Star Trek: Section 31, more is on the horizon. This weekend, San Diego Comic-Con will take place. SDCC 2024 once again has a big presence from Paramount+. Michelle Yeoh’s Star Trek: Section 31 will take to the big stage. For example, a super large Star Trek Universe poster is already featuring the actress. She’s also joined by familiar faces like Anson Mount from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Can’t make it to the event? Don’t worry! Team Trek Central has you covered. Section 31 cast members Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson and Kacey Rohl will participate in the panel. Executive producer Alex Kurtzman and director Olatunde Osunsanmi will also join them. We speculate that a teaser trailer will drop for Star Trek: Section 31. It would make sense, given Yeoh’s heavy presence in the branding for this year’s SDCC event.
What We Know About Star Trek: Section 31
The cast of Star Trek: Section 31 is vast! Alongside Michelle Yeoh, we have Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry). Additionally, Miku Martineau (Honor Society), Joe Pingue (The Expanse), and Augusto Bitter (EZRA) all join the movie.
So far, we’ve only received a limited synopsis of the movie. Although the first half doesn’t give us much, this description is vague. This describes Star Trek: Section 31, a secretive agency protecting the United Federation of Planets first established in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, Georgiou also must face the sins of her past.

When can we expect the movie? Hopefully, SDCC 2024 will confirm a release date. Currently, there is no confirmed release date. Many are speculating that 2025 will be the release for Section 31. It would make sense. At the moment, the film is still in post-production. With the Star Trek Universe panel, we’ll likely get more confirmed details on how the film is shaping up.
