September 2025’s model from Fanhome’s Star Trek Starships collection is the USS Dauntless. Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless is actually from Star Trek: Prodigy Season One and was commanded by Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew). However, long-time fans of Star Trek: Voyager will remember the “Dauntless” as a fake-alien starship created to deceive the crew of the USS Voyager. Prodigy informed us that Starfleet has decided to develop its own. This is Issue #10 of the new Star Trek Starships Collection.
Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless marks the tenth model in this new starships collection. However, it also marks the first Star Trek: Prodigy model we have had. Don’t worry, we’ll actually be getting the Lamarr-class USS Voyager-A as Issue #12 in November 2025. Additionally, the ship model will be an XL edition, making it even better for fans of both Voyager and Prodigy. So, let’s dive into the Dauntless-class from Fanhome and see what this model is all about!
Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless Model
I was actually surprised by the size of this model. Given that I have the original Eaglemoss/Hero Collector USS Dauntless, I thought Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless would be smaller than other ships we have had in the collection so far, especially considering the size of Issue #9’s USS Excelsior from Star Trek: Picard. However, the USS Dauntless is actually large and takes up a fair amount of space. This Star Trek model measures approximately 20cm in length and 9cm in width.
Like all other ships in this collection, it comes with the standard display mounting. In terms of security, I have no concerns about this model’s stability in the near future. The secondary hull feels a bit loose when you hold the model. However, I remind myself that this is for display purposes and is not a toy. Although I do want to pick it up occasionally, the front section of the USS Dauntless is the heaviest area.
Fanhome have packed in a high level of detail on this model. Given that the USS Dauntless is from an animated show, seeing it here in real life is quite fun. If you pick up the model and look closer, you can see the trademark Starfleet windows. However, if you look even closer, you can make out details like the impulse drive and smaller sections on the starship’s warp nacelles. The model also captures the “grill” section on the rear of the main hull. Many of us have wondered what this part of the hull is actually for. Perhaps it had something to do with the experimental FTL system onboard.
BTS for Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless
Something I was looking forward to with Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless is the magazine. As we have come to expect, each starship model comes with a magazine all about the starship. Before this, we actually did not know much about the behind-the-scenes creation of the USS Dauntless for Prodigy Season One. Thankfully, the magazine gives us some much-needed insight into how this came to be.

Fanhome’s magazine for the USS Dauntless has an excellent section on “Designing the USS Dauntless“. This section, as the name suggests, dives into the behind-the-scenes details of how the Dauntless in Prodigy came to be. As a fan of starship designs in the Star Trek Universe, I really wanted to know more about this. Thankfully, the section contains comments from Showrunners Dan and Kevin Hageman.

Conclusion
All in all, I am quite impressed with Fanhome’s Star Trek USS Dauntless. As mentioned, this model is significantly larger than I expected it to be. However, I am still impressed with the build quality and level of detail on the USS Dauntless. Even more so, I am impressed with the behind-the-scenes information from the included magazine. If you are like me and love that information, then you will enjoy this very well.
The USS Dauntless should have been delivered to all current Subscribers of Fanhome’s collection. However, if you are looking to pick up the ship for yourself, it is available on the Fanhome website for £55/$75. This is while stocks last!
Keep an eye out for Issue #11 warping in, which will be the Gral-class USS Archer as seen in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season One. Don’t forget, Fanhome and Trek Central are both beaming down to New York Comic Con 2025 on October 9th-12th. We’ll see you there!
