Star Trek’s William Shatner Partners With Identify Sensors

-

Announced in December 2023, Star Trek’s William Shatner has partnered with IdentifySensors Biologics, a leading developer of digital diagnostic technologies. The actor who played the original Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek: The Original Series has always been interested in emerging technologies with significant health and well-being possibilities. Already, Shatner has begun promoting the new technology via social media.

Trek Central are delighted to share this video of Mr Shatner talking about IdentifySensors Biologics technology. In the video below, Shatner explains how IdentifySensors has developed graphene-based, solid-state biosensors intended to electronically detect multiple infections simultaneously from a single saliva sample. In preliminary testing, the sensors detected and differentiated targeted pathogen DNA and RNA through a digital signal at the gene level.

Check4® by IdentifySensors® Biologics is a digital diagnostic platform intended to rapidly detect and differentiate multiple pathogens simultaneously at the molecular gene level. Take a look at Star Trek’s William Shatner talking about the technology in this video.

Star Trek’s Tricorder Is Real!

Since we first shared news of what IdentifySensors Biologics were doing, Trekkies have been ecstatic about it. Many have compared the technology to Star Trek’s own Tricorder device.  As we know from Star Trek, medical breakthroughs can change the course of human history. Therefore, it’s only a matter of time before we, as humans, do something similar. This is what IdentifySensors are doing. As they say, the COVID pandemic exposed how current pathogen detection methods can be slow and inefficient.

By moving the testing from a chemical-reaction model to a digital readout, IdentifySensors is projected to significantly disrupt the $50 billion diagnostics industry that will make most existing tests obsolete. Therefore, we’re watching as the Star Trek Tricorder Becomes Real. A big factor is the lower cost for individuals and healthcare providers. During my conversation with Doctor Hummer, we discussed how important this is.

The biosensors have been incorporated into a portable Bluetooth device intended to enable users to see test results in minutes. The process is entirely electronic, with no chemical amplification or reagents. IdentifySensors has begun manufacturing and plans to submit devices for FDA review early in 2024. Products developed by IdentifySensors have not yet been approved for sale by the FDA.

“This is truly a revolutionary advancement,” Shatner said in a recent planning call with IdentifySensors’ senior leaders. “Everyone should know about this technology. It will change the world.”

Boldly Going Into The Future!

IdentifySensors Biologics is a digital-diagnostic technology company focused on developing advanced pathogen-detection capabilities. The company’s technology has expanded into multiple industries and applications, such as diagnostics, food safety and sustainability, environmental monitoring and national security. Many of the team are Star Trek fans and love the comparison between the Check4® digital diagnostic platform and the Tricorder!

“We are excited to have Bill join our team and our effort,” said IdentifySensors CEO and co-founder Greg Hummer. “It’s fitting that he will advocate for new technologies that he fictionalized on television more than 50 years ago. He has already provided valuable input for the company.”

Those interested in investing in IdentifySensors and their groundbreaking technology can check out a new crowdfunding page HERE.

DISCLAIMER: This product has not yet been approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration. Diagnostics effectiveness is based on preliminary tests that were conducted in IdentifySensors’ laboratories.
