When watching Star Trek’s many episodes and movies, you sometimes don’t realise what goes on behind the scenes. For example, those people who designed the iconic starships, fought epic space battles, and even created a starfield curtain for “Ten Forward”. However, the upcoming documentary, fronted by the legendary Star Trek designer Doug Drexler, shines a light on his own career with Trek and also on the wider behind-the-scenes of the many productions.
As of the time of writing, the “TREK STAR: The Doug Drexler Documentary” is still raising money on Kickstarter. If you’re interested in supporting the project, you can donate and receive rewards at various levels. Below, you’ll find an EXCLUSIVE clip from the documentary, provided by Doug and his team. Here Doug talks about “Aircraft Logic” and how that makes Star Trek Starships so distinctive.
Trek Central’s Jack had the chance to beam down for an interview with Doug Drexler. You can watch that below. Additionally, if you’re a Patreon Supporter of Trek Central, you can watch an extended interview with discussions about Battlestar Galactica and more. Simply click HERE.
