The Star Trek Universe At SDCC 2024

-

The iconic San Diego Comic-Con is just days away, and we’re expecting some major news and reveals! What else is happening with the Star Trek Universe At SDCC and the famous Hall H for a huge show-spanning panel? Previous years have delivered new trailers and massive surprises, and we’re hoping for more this year. And don’t worry, even if you can’t make it, we’ll have all the news and reveals on Trek Central!

Paramount+ will have the official Star Trek booth on the convention floor. Marketed as the “Star Trek Menagerie booth”, it is located under Booth number “#3529“. The must-see location will be displaying creatures across renowned Star Trek properties. Trekkies who attend the booth can also grab an immersive photo opportunity!

SDCC Predictions

So, what can we expect from SDCC? The new Star Trek Universe wrap on the San Diego Marriot gives us some clues. It puts Michelle Yeoh’s Georgiou front and centre, so expect a major Star Trek: Section 31 reveal. We know some cast members will attend the panel, but what else? The first trailer, teaser, or clip is a very good bet. We’ve only had one major character reveal, so who are the rest of the cast playing? We’ll have to wait and hope for some insights!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will have a section in the SDCC panel! The third season finished filming earlier this year. However, we don’t expect major news from it just yet. There will likely be small reveals of what is to come. The season 2 finale left us on a big cliffhanger. Therefore, the third season is heavily anticipated. Trek Central recently revealed that actor Cillian O’Sullivan will join the third season. Perhaps we’ll see the official announcement of his role as Doctor Roger Korby.

Star Trek Panels at SDCC 2024

Star Trek Universe heads to SDCC 2024!

The Star Trek Universe panel takes place on Saturday, July 27, at 1.45 pm – 3.15 pm PT (9.45-11.15 pm in the UK). Here are all the cast members, showrunners, and producers attending the panel:

Star Trek Universe Panel

—Star Trek: Strange New Worlds with cast members Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck, alongside executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers.

–Star Trek: Lower Decks with voice cast members Jack Quaid, Tawny Newsome, Noël Wells and Jerry O’Connell, along with creator and executive producer Mike McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman.

–Star Trek: Starfleet Academy with EPs and co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau.

—Star Trek: Section 31 will have its Hall H debut with cast members Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson and Kacey Rohl, along with executive producer Alex Kurtzman and director Olatunde Osunsanmi.

Via Deadline

Star Trek: Lower Decks will be an interesting panel segment. It was announced earlier this year that the upcoming fifth season will be the last of the series. Given Season 5 is presumed to air in 2024, a trailer and release date is expected from Lower Decks. However, we have no details on what we can expect from the panel. But, with both Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome in attendance, you know it will be hilarious.

Star Trek x Doctor Who Crossover!

In the run-up to SDCC 2024, a big event was announced. The legendary franchises of Star Trek and Doctor Who are teaming up for a special event. Star Trek Showrunner Alex Kurtzman will beam down with Doctor Who Showrunner Russell T Davies for a special friendship panel. The exclusive creator-to-creator conversation will discuss the art of storytelling. The panel will be moderated by Keisha Hatchett, staff editor of TVLine.

Attendees to the creator conversation will each receive a special Doctor Who X Star Trek poster designed by artist Dusty Abell. Interestingly, Abell’s artwork is very animated in design. Therefore, fans of both legendary franchises strongly speculate that this panel might lead to an animated crossover event. That would be massive and fantastic news, if confirmed.

The Intergalactic Friendship Panel: Star Trek x Doctor Who takes place at 5:30 – 6:30 pm PDT, in Room 6A. That means it starts at 01:30 AM BST. IT will be late for those in Europe who want to stay up and await any announcements or news.
