Can you believe we’re already on Episode 2 of Captain Pike’s adventures? It’s like a dream, but no, it is real. We’ve got previews for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02. Additionally, we’ve got trailers, teasers and promotional photos for the next adventure of the USS Enterprise. Stick with us, we’ve got 9 episodes in the coming weeks of Strange New Worlds, and like you, we’re super excited for it.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02 is titled “Children of the Comet”. It seems like we’ve been getting glimpses of this episode for some time now. Multiple times has a comet or a space-like environment shown up in trailers for Strange New Worlds. However, this could easily be another location in the series.

“AN ANCIENT ALIEN RELIC THWARTS THE ENTERPRISE CREW FROM RE-ROUTING A COMET ON TRACK TO STRIKE AN INHABITED PLANET.”

“While on a survey mission, the U.S.S. Enterprise discovers a comet is going to strike an inhabited planet. They try to re-route the comet, only to find that an ancient alien relic buried on the comet’s icy surface is somehow stopping them. As the away team try to unlock the relic’s secrets, Pike and Number One deal with a group of zealots who want to prevent the U.S.S. Enterprise from interfering.”

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02 Teaser Trailer

While we don’t have a main promotional teaser trailer for Strange New Worlds, we do have a longer season preview. You can see bits of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02 Children Of The Comet in this trailer. Additionally, other episodes have preview elements shown off, such as Episode 4 Memento Mori. However, are there also teases of The Gorn returning? It would seem so!

Mr Spock (Ethan Peck) is briefing Captain Christopher Pike on this week’s mission. A comet is approaching a planet and will wipe the civilization out if it hits. Honestly, this episode’s premise very much reminds me of that classic Star Trek approach. We’re certainly back to that mission of the week format which is being explored here.

The Ready Room Exclusive Clip

It would seem this week we’re being introduced to Chief Engineer Hemmer. Additionally, it’s our chance to see actor Bruce Horak in action. While Hemmer technically appeared in Episode One, he only beamed onto The Enterprise at the last moment. I’m thinking that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02 is going to give us a good introduction to the character.

Thanks to the Ready Room clip, we already have an idea of the new Chief. Since the introduction of the character, we’ve been aware of his species. First featured in Star Trek: Enterprise, Hemmer’s species are the Aenar. This species is an albino subspecies of the famous Andorians. Aenar is generally depicted as blind, and Burce Horak is blind in one eye with limited sight in the other.

Additionally, this clip appears to be one we have been expecting for some time now. However, we’re also getting another introduction to Cadet Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding). Captain Pike is having a crew dinner in his quarters, with everyone pitching in. Really reminds you of the old Star Trek days in a sense. That “classic sense”.

Conclusion

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 1×02 Children Of The Comet looks to be an interesting episode from the preview. However, will it continue Strange New World’s interesting series launch? Additionally, is Chief Engineer Hemmer going to give us a good introduction and cement himself as a key character in the cast of the series?
