Star Trek: Picard beamed down to London, United Kingdom today for Amazon Prime Video’s premiere event. The Trek Central team went along to snap pictures and talk to the stars of the series. Read our roundup of the galaxy-class event below.
Before the event took place, Amazon had ramped up the marketing of Picard to the max. Along with inviting Trekkies to watch the premiere, Amazon has taken over a London Underground station. Picadilly Circus station has been renamed to “Picardilly Circus”, with voice announcements in typical Picard style. If you’re in London, check this station out, you can’t miss the Amazon x Picard branding.
Wednesday evening saw series cast and producers beam down to the London Picard premiere red carpet. This follows the Hollywood premiere event on Monday evening. Sir Patrick Stewart as in attendance and joined by his brand new cast, including the following.
Isa Briones (Dahj), Evan Evagora (Elnor), Harry Treadaway (Narek), and Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker). Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh) both attended, they reprise their original Star Trek characters for Star Trek: Picard.
Executive Producers Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, and Kirsten Beyer also attended the premiere.
Celebrities such as Sir Ian Mckellan, who Sir Patrick shared a kiss with, were also in attendance. Former Star Trek: Discovery cast member, Jason Isaacs, also dropped in for the event. Isaacs spoke about his love for Star Trek and how he enjoyed “that twist” in Discovery season 1.

Evan Evagora, who plays Elnor, talked about how his character “wasn’t raised in traditional Romulan culture”. The star also mentioned how “surreal” it is to be apart of the Star Trek universe.
Jonathan Del Arco commented on returning to the role of “Hugh” and how he has changed as a character. “He’s changed, he’s a man now and grown!”. Del Arco: “I was very pleased to say that the fans will see him (Hugh) and recognize him.”.
Isa Briones (Dahj) commented on what it’s like being apart of the Star Trek universe. She said, “You don’t realize until you’re inside it, just how beautiful the fanbase is.”.
Michelle Hurd spoke about her excitement that Raffi Musiker, her character, appeared in the Star Trek: Picard – Countdown comic book series. Mentioning the “special relationship” between Raffi and Jean-Luc Picard, or as she calls him, “JL”.
The screening event saw Episode One shown to the fans, but not episodes two and three like the Los Angles premiere. Though Sir Patrick and Alex Kurtzman expressed that they wished guests could see all three episodes.
Star Trek: Picard has seen positive first impressions online so far. No reviews are public until the official series launch via CBS All Access. CBS confirmed Picard has been renewed for a season 2.
